Sambalpuri Handloom

One of the most magnificent, well-known, and historic textiles from Odisha is the handwoven Sambalpuri textiles. The artisans who bring the artwork and textiles together are primarily found in the Western Odisha districts of Bargarh, Sambalpur, Balangir, and Sonepur. Several houses in the village of Sambalpur are filled with the sounds of shedding, picking, and beating, indicating the sounds of clothing being prepared. The clothing includes sarees, long yardages, stoles/dupattas, scarves, salwar suit sets, handkerchiefs, and dhotis, made using intricate weaving and motifs.
